The FINCAPES Project is seeking two highly motivated Indonesian students or recent graduates to support the development of our Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Flood and Fire Early Warning System (FFEWS).
This hands-on role bridges low-cost Internet of Things (IoT) technology with community-based disaster risk management to strengthen Indonesia's climate adaptation capacity.
Job Overview
- Position: Prototyping and Assembling Assistant for Early Warning System Development (2 positions).
- Duration: 2 months (Mid-June to Mid-August 2026).
- Location: On-site (FINCAPES Project, Jakarta), with potential travel to field deployment sites.
Requirements
- Education: Senior undergraduate student, diploma student, or recent graduate in Electrical, Computer, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Environmental Engineering, Physics, or related technical fields.
- Core Skills: Basic understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and IoT concepts; experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, wiring, and soldering; ability to read technical diagrams.
- Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams, and a willingness to work in outdoor field environments.
- Assets: Experience with solar power systems, waterproof enclosures, or a strong interest in disaster resilience and community-based technology.
